How Do I Get a Drill in Terraria Easy Mode
use the pwnhammer to break demon/crimson altars, then use the molten pickaxe to mine the ores it gives
As stated above, break as many as you can find, then depending on what ores you get, work your way towards adamantite/titanium, then fight the mechanical bosses.

Pickaxe has more range whereas drills have better mining speed. I find that the pickaxes are better.

depends what your doing etc pic is better for direct mineing for some ore etc but if your brakeing alot of blocks etc (like a boss arena) then digging speed may help you out alot

do this and then mine ore everytime you see it. After killing the wall of flesh click m and check your map for bright pink 2x2 bits in the jungle. once you find this make sure you have good enough gear to kill it. Plantera will drop a key to the lihzard temple. Find/Go to the temple and check all the chests for these scroll looking things. bring wire cutters to disarm traps. find the altar within the temple and use the scroll things to summon the golem. then you want to just do anything you can for better gear. you will then need to kill the lunatic cultist at the dungeon and find purple, blue, red, and teal pillars. kill enemies near them and eventually the shields around the pillar will go down. kill the pillar itself. you will need near endgame/endgame gear for this. After all 4 pillars are killed, the moon lord will spawn. before killing the final pillar find a group because it is insanely hard to solo without help pre-moon lord. then kill queen slime and empress of light and the game is over.

dont listen to them, breaking every altar is a recipe for downright disaster, break between 12-15 to avoid having your whole world be ♥♥♥♥♥whipped by corruption and that will give you more than enough of each ore for a full set of titanium armour and tools, depending on which class you go you may want to go for frost armour which you get by killing ice golems in a blizzard in the surface snow biome. If you are ranger definitely go for frost armour then farm man eaters in the jungle as they can occasionally drop an UZI which is amazing for early hardmode, alternatively you could farm undead miners for a magic quiver and then farm hallowed mimics for the deadalus stormbow and use holy arrows (forgot the recipe) to kill the destroyer in 30 seconds. If you are a summoner, go for spider armour and the spider staff and farm pirate invasions to get the pirate staff, Summoners should kill the twins first to make the Optic Staff. Melee builds should farm goblin army early on to get the shadowflame knife which is a good ranged melee weapon for early hardmode, another alternative is the Dao of Pow which is gotten by killing corrupt and hallowed mummies in the respective evil deserts to get dark and light shards which are the hardest component of the weapon to get. Im not too experienced with magic builds in hardmode but the magic dagger from mimics might be a good place to start as well as the shadowflame hex doll from the goblin army. Weapons with piercing damage are almost essential to defeating what will most likely be your first mechanical boss, the destroyer. The souls from the destroyer can be used to craft the megashark (gun) which is a direct upgrade from the minishark and shreds enemies if used with crystal bullets. The twins' souls can be used with black lenses to create the optic staff which is (in my opinion) the third most powerful summon weapon in the game. Summoners should also use hallowed bars to craft durendal (a whip) which will greatly increase damage output. With hallowed armour and your maxed out weapons plantera will be pretty easy.
Alternatively, if you don't consider using alternate worlds cheating, then you can just create a new world, beat the Wall of Flesh and trigger Hardmode in it, and then break all the altars there instead. Since this world would only be for stripping for resources, it wouldn't matter if it's screwed by crimruption, and your main world would still be safe.
Fishing for hardmode ores is probably doable but it took me forever to do it, creating a trash world to mass-mine is quicker and easier.
